The Parafango bars are melted, heated and applied to specific portions of the body. Dilation of blood vessels, tissue hyperemia and increased blood flow are among the most important results. During the treatment the patient experiences deep heat and relaxation. Parafango pack therapy is the deepest localized heat treatments available, replacing traditional hot packs commonly used. The Parafango pack system is perfect thermal therapy. Hands, arms, elbows, feet, knees, shoulders, back and hips can easily be treated. Parafango should be employed whenever heat therapy is indicated.
The parafango blocks are melted, stirred and heated to 140F (60C) in Prep Unit. This mixture is then poured onto a tray and allowed to cool. As the parafango cools to the desirable 122F, a shiny film becomes noticeable on its surface. The Parafango is now ready to be applied. The mixture should always be placed under or around the part of the body being treated and shaped accordingly. This direct contact with the skin produces rapid heat induction and hyperaemia. Once the Parafango is molded to the body, the person is wrapped tightly with a sheet and blanket and allowed to rest for 30 minutes. During this time the temperature remains constant at 122F. No other thermal therapy equals the efficiency of Parafango in this resect. As there is no water in the Parafango this temperature is well tolerated and due to the close contact of the Parafango to the skin, heat cannot escape, thus producing the desired effect of therocoagulation. Note: Parafango does not stick to body hair; the person is completely clean after removing the pack.
Parafango bars are completely odorless, compact and easy to use. Perspiration cannot penetrate the Parafango mixture. After removing the pack is wiped clean with a sponge or cloth, placed back into the Prep Unit and reused. Read more about |
