Dr Bergel, born in Austria, the home of the most distinctive health spas in the world, studied the Austrian-German health care systems which recognize and appreciate the great therapeutic value of spa kur programs. |

Dr Bergel has received degrees from the University of Cologne Germany (Sport Science, Physical Rehabilitation), the University of California at Los Angeles(Kinesiology) and the University of California at Berkeley (Education Exercise Science). |
