ABANOterme is renown for its rich mineral thermal water and thermal mineral volcanic fango-mud treatments.
Located in the North of Italy, surrounded by the ancient cities of Venice, Padua and Verona, ABANOterme is a favorite retreat for Europeans seeking relief from strained joints and muscles, arthritis, rheumatism, as well as the stress of everyday life.
Ancient Romans believed bathing to be therapeutic and essential to one's health and well-being. These early spa visitors were the first to use fango mud, essential oils and sea salts in their baths. They named ABANO from the Greek "a ponus" meaning "relieves pain". to this day, ABANOterme is revered as a place of healing and rejuvenation.

THE ORIGINS
The Italian town of Abano terme lies at the bottom of the Euganean Hills and is famous for its ancient thermal mud baths (terme means thermal bath). It is considered to be one of the oldest spa centers in the world. The area boasts 130 hot springs, fed by an inactive volcano, that still flow at a constant temperature of 188F. Modern research has shown that the microorganisms contained in the mud have therapeutic properties useful for arthritis, muscle soreness, and some skin conditions.
After studying in Germany and at the University of California, I opened my own rehabilitation SPAclinic. When my clients experienced therapeutic bath treatments in my SPAclinic, they asked if they could continue the treatments at home, thus I began offering ABANOterme products through the clinic and the ABANOterme product line was born. Later I began selling ABANOterme essential bath oils,ABANOterme powder baths (fango-mud bath biodegradable non staining) and ABANOterme herbal bath bag treatments to spas who wanted to offer classic Balneotherapeutic spa therapies to their clients to take home.
ABANOterme products and treatments are used worldwide. ABANOterme products contain natural ingredients in concentrated and therapeutic formulations. ABANOterme products dissolve in water, are biodegradable and will not stain the tub or body. Used as directed, you will experience a real spa treatment in your home.
